JEWELRY CARE

Some tips to help you properly store your jewelry

  • After each wear, gently wipe each piece with a flannel or soft cloth to remove any body oils, make-up, etc.
  • Every few wears, rinse each piece with lukewarm water and mild soap. Gently dry with soft cloth.
  • Store each piece in a small ziplock bag, jewelry box, or pouch to prevent tangling and oxidation.
  • Store jewelry in a low humidity environment to prevent tarnishing.
  • Remove jewelry before swimming, applying cosmetics, creams, sprays, and oils.
  • Give jewelry a night off and remove before bed to avoid any pulls and tugs.

Please Note: These tips mainly apply to gold filled, gold plated, sterling silver, and stainless-steel pieces.

What are the materials used?

Gold Filled:

A thick, solid layer of 14k or 18k gold mechanically bonded to a base metal core (like brass or sterling silver). It is 5% gold by weight; it is 5-10 times thicker than gold plated. Golf filled does not flake off or turn color. It is hypoallergenic and sensitive skin friendly. Highly durable, and with proper care, can last many years.

Gold plated:

Gold plated is a very thin layer of real gold applied to a base metal (usually brass, copper, nickel) usually using a process called electroplating. Gold plated lasts long but does wear off over time. with proper care can last up to two years or more.

Sterling Silver:

Sterling silver consists of 92.5% of pure silver with the remaining metal most likely copper in order to strengthen the silver. Sterling silver is considered a precious metal. Sterling silver tarnishes due to a natural chemical reaction that occurs when silver is exposed to the air. Good news is that it can be un-tarnished easily.

what size jewelry do i need?

Bracelets:

All of our bracelets are made to a 6.5-7-inch wrist size. To determine if you need a smaller or larger size, you can take a piece of string and wrap around your wrist just below your wrist bone. Mark the string where it connects then add about .5 inches for a comfortable fit and let us know the measurement size you may need.

Please Note: Bigger sizes will have an upcharge for more material being used.

Rings:

Wrap a string or strip of paper snugly around the base of your finger. mark the overlap point with a pen and measure in millimeters.

Please Note: Make sure the ring slider you’re using to measure fits over your knuckle, otherwise you won’t be able to slide the ring on. Salty foods can cause fingers to swell a bit, measure your finger more toward nighttime. Fingers can have different sizes on both hands so please measure fingers on both hands if needed. When it comes to thin bands, rings with a thicker band will always be slightly tighter. If needed order a half a size up.
